August 9th DHMA Youth BJJ NOGI Tournament

Dark Horse Martial Arts Youth BJJ NOGI Tournament

Welcome to the Dark Horse Martial Arts Youth BJJ Nogi Tournament! This exciting event brings together young grapplers from different clubs to test their skills in a safe, fair, and competitive environment. Our tournament emphasizes sportsmanship, technical growth, and fun in a safe environment.

Tournament Format

All divisions will be matched by closest weight, age, and experience, ensuring a level playing field for all competitors. If there is a discrepancy of over 2lbs in weight between registration and the date of the tournament, we will try our best to make a match up, but ultimately ownness is on the individual. Each group will consist of up to five athletes, competing in a round-robin format, giving every competitor the chance to face all others in their bracket. If there are only 2 competitors that make up a group, they will face off in a best of 3 style format.

Scoring System

  • Win = 3 points
  • Draw = 1 point
  • Loss = 0 points
  • At the end of the round-robin, the competitor with the most points wins gold.
  • In the event of a tie for a medal position, the result will be decided by an EBI-style overtime, with Back Mount as the only starting position.
  • No double medals will be awarded, every place must be earned outright.

Match Duration

  • Ages 5–7: 3-minute rounds
  • Ages 8–15: 4-minute rounds
